What an epigenetic clock measures
Methyl groups accumulate at predictable positions on DNA as we age. Epigenetic clocks read thousands of these sites and compute a biological age that correlates with mortality and age-related disease more strongly than chronological age.
TruAge™ adds two layers: pace of ageing — how many biological years you accumulate per calendar year — and a system breakdown showing whether the lag sits in hepatic, renal, metabolic, immune or cardiovascular systems.
